  7.  PCGnet is  not a  brand new  network.   We are  a group of individuals that
  8.  have been telecommunicating for quite a  few years now.  Formerly known  as
  9.  ADEnet (The Alacrity Design  and Engineering Network),   PCGnet reorganized
  10.  its network from the ground up, incorporating new nodes and focusing evenly
  11.  on both CAD and Graphics related topics, including,  but not limited to the
  12.  following  topics:   Design,  Drafting,  Engineering,  2d  &  3d  Modeling,
  13.  Multimedia  Systems,   Raster  Imaging,    Raytracing,  3d Rendering    and
  14.  Animation.

  17. Who do I contact - PCGnet Hub(s):

  20.  PCGnet is currently operating 2 Hubs, each serving a specific division  of
  21.  our network.   The University  BBS our  AutoCad/CAD Hub  and  The Graphics
  22.  Alternative being our Graphics Hub.

  24.  Prospective nodes need to contact the PCGnet Membership Coordinator in
  25.  order to obtain membership information.  Prospective nodes concentrating
  26.  on CAD topics will, generally speaking, echo mail through the University
  27.  BBS, Graphics based systems will generally echo mail through The
  28.  Graphics Alternative.

  56. Transferring mail- the first step:
  57. ─────────────────────────────────

  59.  The physical  link (echoing  mail and  file distribution)  with PCGnet will
  60.  require a  node to  be running  a front-end  mailer program.   A listing of
  61.  front-end mailers as  well as additional  information is available  in this
  62.  packet called, MAILERS.TXT.
  63.  
  64.  If you are unfamiliar with front-end mailers, it is highly recommended
  65.  that you read ALL the information  contained in this packet related to
  66.  front-end mailers, as well as other sources. It is  also  strongly
  67.  suggested  that  a  sincere  effort is made reading the necessary
  68.  documentation on installing a front-end mailer for your specific BBS
  69.  software.  Setting up a front-end mailer can be a time consuming process,
  70.  however with a little effort, a few specific information files to read up
  71.  on, as well as some help from one of our nodes, the benefits are awesome.
  72.  The amount  of TIME spent  on setting  up a  front-end mailer  is directly
  73.  related to the effort spent  on reading  and trying  to understand  the
  74.  concept along with the supplied documentation from PCGnet.

  76.  Existing PCGnet nodes will be more than happy to provide you with  specific
  77.  information  related  to  your  BBS  software,  such as;  Maximus, PCBoard,
  78.  Wildcat,  Remote  Access,  RBBS-PC,  and  information  on  mailers  such as
  79.  FrontDoor and Binkley.

  82. Accessing PCGnet services:
  83. ──────────────────────────

  85.  PCGnet's primary goal  is acquiring relatively  active Bulletin Board  Systems
  86.  throughout the world, at this point in time.  Existing active users  groups
  87.  (related to our networks theme) are strongly encouraged to consider setting
  88.  up a BBS of their own, if one is not available.  Every possible effort will
  89.  be made to assist you with  this process.  We are extremely  interested in
  90.  active users groups, which are not currently telecommunicating.
  91.  
  92.  Presently PCGnet is not interested in new nodes with no means of
  93.  generating a message base.  Existing users groups HAVE that potential,
  94.  simply  because they have established  a users-base already.   PCGnet aims
  95.  to build a strong, active, professional message  base instead  of
  96.  acquiring  numerous nodes with little or no message activity..

  98.  Exiting BBS's lacking  an established message  base (related to  our theme)
  99.  which are simply wishing to  echo PCGnet(s) message bases as  an additional
  100.  feature for their end-users will not be accepted for membership.

  103. Other related CAD/Graphics Networks administrators:

  106.  A  node  currently  requesting  access  to PCGnet cannot be ADMINISTRATIVELY
  107.  involved  with  another  network,  such  as  but  not inclusive of, Network
  108.  Statistician, Co-Administrator, Conference Coordinator, Network  Marketing,
  109.  Network Treasure, and so forth, UNLESS approved by PCGnet administratively.

  112. Minimum Requirements
  113. ────────────────────

  115.   All members will be required to setup a front-end mailer system capable
  116.   of being accessed during specific hours as determined by PCGnet
  117.   administrators.
  118.  
  119.   All members must carry the PCGnet Administrative, Sysop and Public
  120.   conferences. The Administrative and Sysop conferences are for PCGnet
  121.   member sysops only and access must not be given to normal callers.  The
  122.   Public conference is a open to all callers.
  123.  
  124.   All members must have bulletins containing the information within the
  125.   MEMBERS.TXT documentation readily available to all users.
  126.  
  127.   All members must make the PCGNET.ZIP file available for downloading by
  128.   all callers.

  130.   All members must exchange mail at least once a week.
  131.  
  132.   All members will make the PCGnet message conferences available to all
  133.   callers for no charge beyond the reasonable subscription fee
  134.   associated with the system.
  135.  
  136.   All members are required to obey the law.  Any member engaged in or
  137.   promoting illegal activities through their PCGnet membership will be
  138.   expulsed from PCGnet.

  140.   All members must follow the PCGnet conference rules and encourage their
  141.   callers to do so as well.

  143.   All members must conduct themselves in a courteous and professional
  144.   manner.  Foul or abusive language is not permitted!
  145.  
  146.   PCGnet conferences are not to be bridged with the conferences of other
  147.   networks.

  149.   Only PCGnet members are to be permitted to carry the PCGnet conferences.

  151.   The PCGnet copyright notice must be included in the member BBS's
  152.   policy statement to callers.

  160. note that we do our very  best to respond to all applications in a timely

  163. your application in a timely manner, please try contacting the PCGnet
  164. Network Coordinator or Policy Coordinator so that your membership
  165. information may be duly forwarded.
